Course Description
This course will introduce the student to the most significant people and themes of the Old Testament, focusing on Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and David, going to the time of Jesus. While these great biblical figures are known for their devotion to God, the lives they lead saw great struggle, and at times, great sin. The Old Testament describes God’s great love and fidelity even when the people He is counting on stray far from Him. If the Old Testament has seemed hard to understand, this course will show God’s plan in it and how it can transform one’s life today. The main text will be the Bible itself (either Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition or New American Bible), with supplements from Dr. Scott Hahn’s A Father Who Keeps His Promises.
