Course Description

Crucifixion was outlawed by the Emperor Constantine in 337AD. Within a few generations, the details of this form of capital punishment were forgotten. The crucifix is the central symbol of our Catholic Faith, but many do not realize how horrible an instrument of death it was. In order to more fully understand and appreciate the tremendous sacrifice which Jesus made for us, this lecture will examine the suffering which Jesus endured for our salvation from the perspective of a physician. It is based on Scripture as well as the most current archaeological and forensic research.
