Course Description
The education of children is one of the greatest callings God gives to parents. The Church has responded to this by supporting parents through the tradition of Catholic education. This three-week course will examine the nature and ends of authentic Catholic education and a discussion of means to attain those ends. It will include an examination of the writings of the popes and official Church documents. It will also feature a discussion of Catholic intellectual life, what it means to be an educated person, and the role discipline plays in the formation of virtue. This course will be of particular interest to parents who desire a deeper understanding of the Church's teachings on the nature and purpose of education.
