From the St. Thomas the Apostle Advent Mission of 2025, Fr. Will Schmid offers a reflection on Pilgrimage at the Heart of Christian Existence.

Fr. Will Schmid

Fr. Will Schmid, an Arizona native, was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Phoenix after graduating from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio in 2009 with a Masters in Divinity and a Master of Arts in Theology. In 2012, Fr. Schmid graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. In addition to his new role as Director of Vocations, Fr. Will is also the homiletics professor for the Diocese of Phoenix permanent diaconate program, and a student in Biblical Theology for the Ukrainian Catholic University. Fr. Schmid’s previous assignments and ministries include: Director of the Spirituality Year for Nazareth Seminary, pastor of San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church in Flagstaff, pastor of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Gilbert, Coordinator of Ongoing Formation of Priests for the Diocese of Phoenix, chaplain and theology teacher at Seton Catholic Preparatory High School in Chandler, volunteer chaplain for the Chandler Police Department, and adjunct professor of theology at Benedictine University in Mesa.
